NEW COLLABORATIVE PROGRAM
Pro Bono Clinic for Nonprofits - This is a joint project of the Mortimer Caplin Public Service Center, the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, and the Legal Aid Justice Center, and the law firm of Michie, Hamlett, Lowry, Rasmussen & Tweel. Volunteer law students, under the guidance of pro bono attorney supervisors, will offer "legal check ups" to area nonprofits and provide legal assistance in transactional matters such as organizational structure and operation, the formation of a new entity, the drafting of Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws, review of lease agreements, zoning, contracts and copyright and intellectual property concerns.
This program is being piloted with CNE nonprofit members with operating budgets below $1,000,000. It will be conducted on a first come, first serve basis. If you'd like to find out more or sign up, please contact staff@thecne.org or call 434-244-3330.
